Answered Prayers

Image
This is a picture of answered prayers in the reality of life. Prayers have been done faithfully for approx. 3 yrs. We are grandparents to 2 beautiful, now teenagers, who live in Mich. On Thurs.1/13/11, they arrived @ our house!!! It was the most wonderful, happy day. It has been a very loving, fun, new beginning for us with them, as teenagers! They have grown soooo much....We had to learn once again how to 'talk' to teenagers! They both are very interesting, smart, sweet, well-mannered, respectful young adults. They love hugging as much as we love hugging, too!! The whole family came forward to meet/greet/eat with them! It was a great time. There was loud talking, laughing, teasing and just LOVE all in the moments we shared. Their car pulled out of the driveway @ 5pm....leaving behind sweet memories for us all. The past 4 days with them has been priceless. We are now looking forward to spending time together again this summer. All the credit for this joyful 4 days goes to

Remembering Mama....

Jan. 3rd is my sweet Mama's birthday. She passed away in '03 @ age 74. Had she lived, today would mark #82. Mama was my BEST friend, she gave me & my boys a safe haven oftentimes when I couldn't afford to be out on my own. Mama spent much time helping me raise my sons & they loved her, too. She was my total support after the divorce from the boys' dad. Mama was a very sweet, loving, spiritual woman. She was active in her church & always cooking/baking for church events. Mama always cooked & carried food to families who had a death in their family. Mama lived the last 26 yrs. of her life in her own personal "world". After a brain aneurysm & 2 blood clots removed from her brain, she was left "not quite" the same....The fact is, she was still Mama, so full of humor and so much fun to be around!! She would hug & kiss you to the max and LOVED all children---those things never changed. I remember visiting her in the nursing home,

Jan. 3rd, 1981....that was the day. Lamar & I were married @ Oglethorpe Bapt. Church in Oglethorpe, Ga. Now today that is a total of 30yrs. ago!! Life is good. Memory of that day includes that it was bitterly COLD & damp; my knees really did "shake"; his dear Mama "teared up". (that was her 38yr. old bachelor son, never married before!). We weren't able to have a reception so all went back to my tiny apt. for coffee...My sons were very excited - they loved Lamar, too. I had no idea where my life was going, only that I was CONFIDENT in my choice. The story continues....Lamar had to leave the very next morning for out of town work for 2 wks. No honeymoon for us! He told me to be completely packed & ready to move to Cartersville upon his return. His sweet Dad came over, loaded my pitiful collection of possessions on a trailer and the 4 of us "hauled butt" to Cartersville to begin our lives as a new family. In these 30yrs. together, there h
