This "shadow" image is...transmission fluid which ran out of my car!!! It scared the beegeezzers out of me!! So I luckily was only a few more feet from a Citgo station. Pulled into there & quickly exited the car...didn't know if it was gonna blow up, catch fire of WTH! A woman on site got down on the ground & said a hose was totally detached...there was fluid running frm the side, all the way behind the car....:(  :(  So....there we were stranded..called roadside assistance & the pix below is the results.... This happened Sat. afternoon. Tow truck finally picked up my "baby" Sun. afternoon....:(  :( So, Lamar drove to Blairsville, picked us up & brought us home. My poooooor  "baby" got left behind in Blairsville and I had to leave her for rep

Hangin Out!

Image
There it is!  My beautiful, ORIGINAL art piece---now framed & matted....I LUV LUV it! This is the art piece Eric brought me from LasVegas. It is signed by the artist. There is also a brief video of the artist actually "doing" this picture. This guy only uses spray can paints & it only takes him a few minutes to complete an art piece.  Eric told the "artist" he wanted something w/Thomas Kinkade colors, water & light. I luv the end result!  It is hangin out on my front porch....anyone who comes onto the porch or into the house will be seein my beautiful art piece!  I am a HAPPY mama and will enjoy this every day.  :)  :)  :)  :) THANK U  soooo much, Eric.

GrandPA's Treat...

Image
This pic shows our precious Granddaughter in Grandpa's lap! That's where she luvs to be when she is here.....GrandPa "eats up" that sweetness, too! She luvs GrandPa to "read" to her, even tho, most times she winds up "readin" it to him...lol Our Grandson on the other hand....is more interested in playin w/Ariel when he gets here! Ofcourse, he always gives GrandPa attention, too. He & GrandPa got outside so he could shoot his BB gun....GrandPa still supervises on that one. The 2 of them haven't been over to our house this summer, until Thursday. They had been begging me to come see GrandPa. When I am w/them, I go to their house.  It only took about 30min. or less for them to become bored...lol   Grandson said that the reason they wanted to come was: they were bored w/their toys @ home cause they play w/them "all the time"! I replied that there wasn't much here ---he said, oh yes! Ariel, GrandPa and my BB gun.....lol    Wh

MARC - Birth Memories

Image
Marc was born:  7/10/73 @ 1:26pm I remember 16hrs. of HARD labor to bring him into this world! Dr. said it was a short labor, but one of the hardest he had seen in while! I believe that even prior to his birth, Marc was destined to be a "rebel"....LOL  Heck, guess he was so satisfied w/peace, quiet and no one grabbing at him to hold his cute self, that he fought against entry into this loud, noisy and "cold" world!!  Marc had no hair until he was approx. a yr. old....funny, since if you know him now, he keeps his head shaved.....lol    Bald but yes, a beautiful baby boy. Marc was a boy we found out when he was born!! I was convinced while pregnant that he was a girl....I'm thankful that he was a boy as things turned out.....a boy can be very INdependent and that's what I needed after beginning to raise him as a single Mom. God knows best. I was teased unmercifully -- Drs. got my due date WRONG and my fellow police officers said I was pregnant for a year

GRANDpa Raccoon!

Image
Very LARGE raccoon  spotted late Wed. evening in "garden area"... Raccoon is GRANDpa, I think! Foraged around for maybe 15-20 min. then was gone. Had seen this one prior---fought off possum for eatin rights! DEVIL eyes!! Like I told ya, he is HUGE....lol  (bigger than some dogs!)

SERENITY = Happy!

DONNIE - Birth Memories

Image
 My memories of Donnie's birth: At the time, I was in Atlanta going to business school and near graduation. Mama & Daddy drove up to visit. When they came in, both looked like the "cat who had swallowed the mouse"!! They both seemed very happy. Daddy said that Mama had some news to tell me. Daddy was smiling like a cheshire cat, all pleased and privy to a great secret! Mama then told me she was pregnant...I was blown away! and very surprised. I could see they were very happy and excited. My thoughts - maybe Daddy would finally get the boy he wanted!                                          Everyone in the family was very concerned for Mama's safety and well-being. Mama had been told after my birth Not to have any more kids. A story I seem to remember was that she almost died when I was born. (don't remember specific details) Near Mama's "due date" Drs. decided to "force labor" and get it done! Daddy & I were in the waiting room
