Not Young, Still Restless JEANNE COOPER

Image
I bought this book (paid retail! which I never do!) on Fri. trip to Rome. Barnes&Noble had it in stock. Ofcourse, unless you're a Y&R fan, it probably will not interest you! Michael Logan, TV Guide: "Smashingly funny, heartachingly honest, and loaded with some damn fine dish(yep, she kisses and tells!), this is much more than a memoir. It's a handbook for survival." Lee Phillip Bell (co-creator Y&R) says in part......."I read it in a day and a half!" Now, ofcourse, I have a review of my own: I have laughed so much w/this book, been touched by some of the sadness in her life, and am so pleased to hear of her involvement in so many humanitarian causes. This woman is quite interesting in everyday  life and the values she honors in living her life.  You can just hear "Mrs. Chancellor" saying many of the humorous quips she delivers in this book!  Yes, I did read it in a day and a half also! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about her f

WHAT is normal???????????

Image
Today has been a banner day for gooood news!! Finally, we were able to attend to some VIP business, and it worked out well. Thank you, Jesus. Then after we got home, the call came that Lamar's new DIABETIC shoes are ready to pick  up....Yeah. We feel confident that these shoes will be a major key to protect his feet. They are specially made, so yes, we are  definitely counting on this to make a big difference in his foot health. Thank you, Jesus. I, however, am TIRED! Things are soooo much less stressful and a bit easier now that Lamar is "back on the job"! Even with that.....after my trip Mon., I just haven't "caught" up on rest as yet. I feel things are beginning to get back to a more "normal" lifestyle. Lamar DROVE today, for the 1st time in months; he fed  the birds, too. That's a small thing to some.....but, if one person is doing ALL the work, all the driving, nursing a foot, stressing over diabetes and still trying to do household

It's 3 A.M. and I'm all alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image
I actually had already been up 15 min. before I took this today!!! UGH. right. This was my destination. Rule is: you must be THERE promptly by 7 A.M. in order to get same-day service! It's sign in, 1st come, 1st served. My journey began as I left home @ 4:15 A.M.  Ugh. right. It was a nasty trip! The FOG was dense, roads unfamiliar (even w/Lamar's instructions), and my personal "brain" FOG....lol I stopped for reinforced directions....I was a bit "off" my intended route. In spite of all these "murphy" opponents.....I arrived @ 6:15 A.M.  Signed in....#2 , yes!! Needless to say, it was the  looooooong -est day I can remember!! The payoff was BIG, though. I now have a brand new smile.........lol It's was Mon. pm, ONE WHOLE WEEK ago.....my top plate cracked for the 3rd time.!! No hope to repair this time. I had postponed this replacement about 2 yrs. w/repairs. So my diet has been totally screwed. NO meat or anything w/crust of any kind

Porch BABY....

Image
Walked out on porch this morning, enroute to my car. Noticed a bird, perched on the top of the screen door. Upon further inspection-----it was a BABY! It's lil feet firmly attached to the screen and backed up into the corner as tightly as possible! I tried thumping the screen to "shoo" him on...didn't work. Then, open & closed door...didn't work. It would just squeel sorta! and remain in place! I went on outside (w/camera, ofcourse)...no movement frm that attached stance. It's lil feet were firmly attached. I tried prodding gently w/broom handle....nothing! I knew it was a baby, it's lil eyes were only slightly open. Went back on porch and put on my softest gloves. Went out and gently removed it frm it's perch grip....boy did it fuss at me loudly! I know it was scared. Took the fella out and tried to place it on a bush limb. When I let go....it flew....not well, but it did fly off. It came back toward higher branch & lit there. Aft

ON the "FLY"

Image
Birds. Yes. My fascination is well-known by the tons of pictures I display! Photo ops abound right out in my front yard. This "hobby" gives me much pleasure and enjoyment. I am truly fascinated by the behavior of birds as they interact. Sometimes....it "resembles" our human daily behavior. One big dove, chasing the others away from the feeding.....or, may be some kind of "love" ritual. I really don't know! A "gang" of wrens will fight for perch on the feeders. There are many feeders, but they still tend to scrap over a particular place! Seeing doves, loving by touching beaks. It's so sweet! Following are some pics I took on Mon. after the rain stopped. There tends to be "gatherings" of the wrens and more on the "twin" feeders. It's a sight! My particular fun is catching birds in flight, waiting for perches.... I know some get "tired" of seeing these bird pictures, I guess. But, FB

BLOCKED Pin !!

Image
I was attempting to pin a picture w/a Bible. It stated that the Bible is the only book w/the writer present. I was totally shocked. Top of page  is what happens when you click "more info" for explanation. The original info you get is: "We've blocked this link because it may go to spam or other inappropriate content." What???? How does anyone consider the Bible as spam??( There is an option to see if the denial can be corrected.) My young life, now into my adult life has been "built" around this book. I definitely do NOT consider anything about the Bible to be spam! What you think????

Saturday SURPRISE!

Image
Saturday was WalMart grocery day....ugh. While I was gone, Eric feed the birds and hung up the feeders for me. (we take feeders down at night, so "critters" won't tear them down & tear them up!!) When I returned...Eric says there's a baby bird out there on the ground. It didn't fly off, or move away the whole time he was feeding. So.....you know. I went running for my camera! This little fella was still there....just looking around, unafraid and in no hurry to move on. You could see it's feathers were tiny, it was totally wet and unaffected by humans! May be some type of wren? Unsure. When I went back outside later.....it was gone! Best scenario is that it found its way w/a mama & daddy and went on w/it's life.... Surely hope so....

HAPPY Thursday....for GRANDMa

Image
Yes, it's Thursday.....KD (kids day). This is my last day to "sit" with my beautiful Grandkids....school starts Friday. This is one of the moments I treasure....Book Fair last year. Now, honestly, who wouldn't want to kiss these sweet cheeks!! They are smart, funny, loving kids. They rate verrrrrry high in GrandMa's "book of love". I do have mixed feelings about today. I WILL miss seeing them these days each week. However, I also will be ready to have some "me", work-at-home, go- at- will time, too! They both are beginning at new schools this year. They seem excited. I hope this will be tons of fun for them and that they make lots of "new" friends. So, I do celebrate this "summer's ending"....but, will honestly miss the fun we've had. You can bet....I will be over to see them at least once a week during school time. I honestly do have "kid withdrawals" and must see them!! LOL Good luck to my "m

It's all about the LOVE............

Today was an unexpected funeral for Lindsey....seen in the above picture. She was only 19yrs. old. Lindsey was very loved by family, friends and Josh....they were cousins who also were BFFs, since they were youngens. All thoughts of her death, and the deaths of her mother & father have consumed the family's lives since July 18th. The deaths were unexpected and tragic. A funeral was held today. All 3 members of this family were remembered and honored together. Both preachers who officiated knew the family personally. They each had a hard time w/composure, trying to honor this family. The service was one which was exactly as God directed them. They both preached on LOVE. They were happy to see such a large congregation, coming together in love to honor this family. The second theme was....hold on to the memories. Both preachers assured everyone that this family was "ready" to go "home". There is comfort in those words, too. It was a very emotion-pack
