VERMILLION ~ Loss....GONE!!
Years ago, when I began my bird "sanctuary", there was this medium-sized bush ~ to the right side of my area.
Lamar saw an episode of "This Old House", they were relocating a Vermillion bush. So...that's how we were able to identify this "spindly" thang ~w/white flowers in the Spring!
A healthy one looks like this ..
After all these years {around 30!}....it has "given up the ghost" of life!! We are sooooooo SAD!!
Last year, Pig {our Friend} was able to prop it up, with a piece of Rebar, to get some of the live branches Up, off the ground. {a large branch w/new, green growth had broken off...@ the ground area. Think that caused it to fall, toward the ground.}
So, it then survived until last night.
We had a heavy Rainstorm, with some winds....guess it couldn't hold it's weight any more.

This lil bush has had a gOOd, long life! It has served as a landing zone--for all types of birds--, a shady place to rest for them, and VIP - a background ~for probably 80% of my Bird pics!!!
We watched that lil spindly thang{winter} survive, year after year! Then, leaf-out & present White flowers every Spring.
Today, all day, the Birds are still landing on it~even though, it's On the ground! They will Miss it ~
We will MISS it....
Thinking about ~ planting Something there...for us and the Birds!!
Next step is to remove it...Not today....!
