Lesson in Attitude Adjustment

Wed. 12/1/10  Don't fall off your chairs...went shoppin today! NOT my usual "thing", however, wanted 3 specific items. All 3 to do w/deco for my new bath. 1)spray to change color on artificial flowers 2)paint to change color on glass vase & 3)shelf/drawer liner for new storage vanity. Now, in the past when I was deep into "crafty" things, these were very COMMON short cuts to accomplish money-saving & redesign things already on hand.
Today---NONE could be found, all stores I checked had decided not to carry these items...Well WTH does that do for me---leaves me "hanging" w/o a way to accomplish my money-savin good deeds!!!!!!!
Went to Hobby Lobby,Big Lots,Belk's,Kohl's & had already ck'd at WalMart,KMart,Target on line. Bummer--so frustrated,aggravated & "ticked off" I was about to burst!!!

Then I looked beside me and there was my sweet, fun, happy, LUCKY friend having the best time---she was findin things she wanted for her Christmas gifts. WOW, I realized to just LET GO of my foul mood and tap into her happiness....I'm glad that I figured that one out!!! All of a sudden I began to actually ENJOY my day & my sweet friend...what should have happened hrs. before my light bulb went off!!!

We left about 11am, had a great lunch together w/her son, shopped until about 4pm....Then I had a brain blast---let's go to Starbucks!!! The day had been extremely icy wind blowin & flat out COLD....That my friends was my very FIRST visit to Starbucks....and I LIKED the experience. We sat in very comfortable chairs & talked for quite a while---restin them TIRED legs & just enjoying our friendship.

Sooooooooo, Thank YOU, Vickie for my Life Lesson for today. Sometimes it's best to ENJOY the friend and the freedom to be with pleasant people who find it's THEIR day to score!!!!!!!!!! Happy shoppin yall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1st birthday Parteeee! I had waited a while for this one! No adjectives seem appropriate, to convey my A.Ma.Zing day. ALL the Kudos go to Donnie&Pam -the arrangements, (held in their beautiful home), deco, food & #1 Surprise of it all.!! {TY also to the SONS, for contributing $ to the party; Ronda, Vickie & Sue --for Food they brought. I had asked NO presents --just the PRESENCE, of my Family & Friends.....that fell thru! Gifts were ALL wonderful, cards so Sweet. {Sadly, a few out-of-town FRIENDS, weren't able to make the party. They were All on my mind & in my heart, tho.} 2 even mailed gifts!! TY to Betty & Charlene. Pam's deco was to the moon! So Beautiful, & my special SUNFLOWER theme.{Sunflower "love" began w/EVONNE --after she made me a Decoupage plate w/Sunflowers. Still hangs in my kitchen.} There were SUNFLOWERS, Everywhere! {even in the bathroom! So cute.} The cake....w/Cupcakes.... It was a ME day! Pictures w/Family

LIFE Lessons .....Learning Again !!

This blog is a confession and statement of "new" learning for me. The "darkness" of an "acute" illness, and the healing from that, has been a reality check in full measure! I'm a Believer. I'm one who praises God, prays all the time, and am confident of the Love of my Father. That statement made -- I am still filled w/human nature and it's quircks! We all get "comfortable" in our everyday lives and routines. Well. Mine has been blown apart w/this "healing" process.!! It's going much more slowly than I would desire, and so much seems more difficult, and "lost" a bit. There are books written, quotes out there, and we all kinda believe --don't sweat the "small" stuff. Pfffft! It's the "small" stuff that's giving me such tough issues right now. Go figure! the "REST OF THE STORY"......

I did soooo Love Paul Harvey. His stories were always so interesting.....and, he researched to bring a story to an often unknown ending. The "rest of the story" always let ya know.....the circle was closed on that topic for him. In that fashion....I wanted to do this blog. I love photography. I'm quite a happy amateur! Now, with Pinterest I get to see unlimited talent. This picture was one that "drew me in"....After I pinned it.....there were like 30+ other people who loved it too! This picture received the most pins on my boards. Just look at it....Never did try to track down the photographer. Only went as far as where the pin originated. Browsing pinterest boards is a fun pastime. I enjoy "following" pictures/quotes and such as far as I dare. In browsing.....I "fell into" a site. The photographer is TIMOTHY WALKER.
