G M C ~~ HISTORY ~~ and Marc

Lamar bought a GMC, long-bed truck in 1973. That truck became "infamous"  in this family. *big engine & f a s t!!*
Lamar & I were dating ~~ on one of those, we were driving thru Montezuma ~~the GMC just quit on him! That truck did NOT like me. (she was jealous of another female!) LOL
We married in 1981. When Marc was about 12yrs. old ~ he decided to begin "borrowing" the GMC and taking joyrides. Not to be caught ~he would place two #7 car polish cans exactly where the tires should be, when he "returned" the GMC!! This went on, for who knows how long, before it happened!! Lamar caught him one afternoon coming back from one of his "visits" to his BF!!!
As a result, Lamar began taking EVERY vehicle key he owned w/him to work every day!!!
Even more ~~on one of Marc's "drives",~making a "hasty" retreat from the yard!, he hit a water pipe and bent the rocker panel on the GMC!!
Since childhood, Marc has always "wanted" the GMC. Lamar had instructed me many times ~ if something happened to him, the GMC went to Marc.
A few weeks back, Marc outright asked his Dad for the GMC. They "agreed". So ~~Dad bought parts to repair it (had been sitting UNused for about 7yrs.!), and Marc agreed to do the "work" to get it running again.
1st work day. That's HUNTER under the hood, learning to mechanic w/his Dad instructing and GrandPa overseeing them both!
(*NOTE: How "green" it is, even the windshields!)

When Eric was here last weekend, he did quite a bit of work on it, too. Replacing parts, to help Marc.
Today ~~ it all came down. Marc and Hunter finished the repairs. Then ~~cleaned that NASTY sucker UP, it looked good. *extra measure was trip to car wash for further cleaning*
After scrubbing by Marc n Hunter...
 wiping down inside..
 front view ..
Leaving ~~can ya see Hunter's smiling face?....
....out of the driveway ~~~~gone to it's "new" home.

I asked Lamar if he was shedding tears? His reply was that he was just HAPPY to see it running and being useful once again.(he hasn't been physically able to mechanic it back to life).
***part of the agreement was Daddy could "use" the GMC   ANY time he desires to do so. Hope that will ease the "loss" of Lamar's ol Gal aka longest held "boy toy".***
