"HAIRY" Sunday....

After our family left....took a "rest". Then I saw him....there was Hairy woodpecker -- back again! I missed photo ops twice lately. ugh.



Got him this time.....The last shot barely made it!! He was definitely leaving.....

Porch BABY....

Walked out on porch this morning, enroute to my car. Noticed a bird, perched on the top of the screen door. Upon further inspection-----it was a BABY! It's lil feet firmly attached to the screen and backed up into the corner as tightly as possible! I tried thumping the screen to "shoo" him on...didn't work. Then, open & closed door...didn't work. It would just squeel sorta! and remain in place! I went on outside (w/camera, ofcourse)...no movement frm that attached stance. It's lil feet were firmly attached. I tried prodding gently w/broom handle....nothing! I knew it was a baby, it's lil eyes were only slightly open. Went back on porch and put on my softest gloves. Went out and gently removed it frm it's perch grip....boy did it fuss at me loudly! I know it was scared. Took the fella out and tried to place it on a bush limb. When I let go....it flew....not well, but it did fly off. It came back toward higher branch & lit there. Aft...

Photo-HOLIC !

There are many kinds of conditions which need medical attention...alcoholism, drugs, depression. However, I've not figured out what will "fix" me! I'm addicted to a CAMERA and "shootin" pictures. What "cure" is there for me? My family has chided me for years....uh oh, here comes Mom with the camera! Now, I'm even worse...haha  I now have a good camera w/Zoom that will "reach out and touch" whatever I want to capture. Now, understand, I'm a basic point-and-shoot woman. I'm toooo lazy to study and learn about light, lenses and that important stuff! Know that I'll never be more than an amateur with a desire....what's wrong with that? Retired people NEED structure to their lives!! lol  Honestly, I've "found" my niche....me and this camera go everywhere together. I LOVE catching "kodak moments" and enjoy looking for things I might otherwise pass on by without noticing. The above 3 p...

HAPPY Birthday, Mama...

This beautiful, sweet, loving woman is my MAMA. God called her home in '03, and she is sorely missed. Today is her birthday. When Lamar & I decided to get married, I wanted to tie that knot on the 3rd. I love that my wedding anniversary is the same date as my Mama's birthday. In my mind.....this is honoring what she taught us. LOVE. My Mama loved EVERYbody. She especially loved kids, her family and friends, and the church family. She was a very SPECIAL human being w/a loving, sweet spirit. Everyone who knew her.....saw it in everything she did for others. Mama has been very missed and on my mind during the holidays. She always was w/us and her "love light" always was present. Thinking of you today and EVERYday Mama.......:)
