COUNTDOWN .....Day 1

Today begins my countdown.....to 65!! It becomes reality in 4  short days.
I  see where I began....
I've known this day would arrive. At least, I hoped I'd make it!
Standard question---how did I get here? Where DID the years go?  A valid issue to ponder.
Only one answer ----a whole LOTTA living done happened!! I am BLESSED to still be here--loving,  having lil adventures for Fun, physically mobile, married to my sweet Lamar (for 33yrs. in Jan.!!), ENjoying my life @ this time.
Many events have taken place. HS Graduation, college course(1st time away frm home!), 1st job and car, death of my sweet Daddy, 1st marriage, birth of two beautiful sons, divorce (ugh),amazing Mama's illness and death in '03, 2nd marriage(I'll be here till I leave this earth!), Sons who have moved on w/their lives, and the ICING on my "life cake"---GRANDkids.!!(such an AWESOME reward for gettin OLD!!)
Throughout all these highlights--- sadness, happiness, loss, miracles, joy, laughter, and LOVE. 
Meandering w/thoughts on the "autumn" of my life, I find one word --Survival. No matter what life throws @ me, w/GOD'S help, and the best support from LIFEtime, golden, and present-day FRIENDS--- I have become a SURVIVOR. I will always CHOOSE that vs feeling a "victim" of circumstances.
So, bring it on 65 -- I'm as ready and "armed" as I know how!!
*I must admit... When I received my Medicare card---it was a bit of a "bummer", a tear or two did fall!! It is "Official"  w/that one.!! I had long ago "accepted" now being labeled a "Senior"---and hey, that has some FUN perks, sometimes. LOL
My countdown has begun....

My 1st birthday Parteeee! I had waited a while for this one! No adjectives seem appropriate, to convey my A.Ma.Zing day. ALL the Kudos go to Donnie&Pam -the arrangements, (held in their beautiful home), deco, food & #1 Surprise of it all.!! {TY also to the SONS, for contributing $ to the party; Ronda, Vickie & Sue --for Food they brought. I had asked NO presents --just the PRESENCE, of my Family & Friends.....that fell thru! Gifts were ALL wonderful, cards so Sweet. {Sadly, a few out-of-town FRIENDS, weren't able to make the party. They were All on my mind & in my heart, tho.} 2 even mailed gifts!! TY to Betty & Charlene. Pam's deco was to the moon! So Beautiful, & my special SUNFLOWER theme.{Sunflower "love" began w/EVONNE --after she made me a Decoupage plate w/Sunflowers. Still hangs in my kitchen.} There were SUNFLOWERS, Everywhere! {even in the bathroom! So cute.} The cake....w/Cupcakes.... It was a ME day! Pictures w/Family

the "REST OF THE STORY"......

I did soooo Love Paul Harvey. His stories were always so interesting.....and, he researched to bring a story to an often unknown ending. The "rest of the story" always let ya know.....the circle was closed on that topic for him. In that fashion....I wanted to do this blog. I love photography. I'm quite a happy amateur! Now, with Pinterest I get to see unlimited talent. This picture was one that "drew me in"....After I pinned it.....there were like 30+ other people who loved it too! This picture received the most pins on my boards. Just look at it....Never did try to track down the photographer. Only went as far as where the pin originated. Browsing pinterest boards is a fun pastime. I enjoy "following" pictures/quotes and such as far as I dare. In browsing.....I "fell into" a site. The photographer is TIMOTHY WALKER. LIFE Lessons .....Learning Again !!

This blog is a confession and statement of "new" learning for me. The "darkness" of an "acute" illness, and the healing from that, has been a reality check in full measure! I'm a Believer. I'm one who praises God, prays all the time, and am confident of the Love of my Father. That statement made -- I am still filled w/human nature and it's quircks! We all get "comfortable" in our everyday lives and routines. Well. Mine has been blown apart w/this "healing" process.!! It's going much more slowly than I would desire, and so much seems more difficult, and "lost" a bit. There are books written, quotes out there, and we all kinda believe --don't sweat the "small" stuff. Pfffft! It's the "small" stuff that's giving me such tough issues right now. Go figure!
