GrandMa shoots Grandson!!

Stayed w/grandkids Sat. night so parents could have a much deserved, long-awaited date night!
Received last minute instructions and the parents took off. Not even realizing at this point that I would be the one giving grandson his insulin shots!! UGH!
So, time came for supper...no problem figuring carbs, I get that now. Then, figures done, food ready, time for injection.
Grandson says he can't do it on back side of his arm, Grandma, you'll have to give me my shot!! Oh, no....I'm not sure I can do this!
All kind of freakin-out running rampant thru my brain...Well, just suck it up and as Nike says, "just do it"!!
Grandson very smart & knows the whole procedure very well. He has been such an amazing kid thru this whole new life situation. 
Grandson says, I'll "pinch" Grandma, you just do the shot...ok....so,
I DID!!!
Now, I'm freakin-out again....asks grandson, did I hurt you? He quickly says no...as if it's nothing. Well....it was something to me!
As I told Marc, that's my "baby" boy(he's really 10now!), and it hurt my HEART!! I am sane & into reality enough to know, this is a major contribution to keeping grandson healthy. BUT, it still is a bit daunting to take the leap from "watchin" shots given to being the one who does the shooting...hahaha
With my amazing Grandson's guidance, we got thru that shot and the next one. Hoping this will "settle" me down for next week....I'll be there with him 3 days!!!!!!! 
I didn't pass out, but my heart suffered a blow!! I always just wanted to love him & hug him---but now, it's on a different level....I have to shoot my Grandson!!!!!!!!    LOL
I really believe it will get less bothersome as the days go on, but this first trip down "shot lane" was a bumpy ride for this ol Grandma!
I love this youngen very much and so, we do what we must to promote a healthy life for him.....
Note: to understand better -- I am an adult, and I HATE shots!! I will do whatever I can to delay, stop, postpone or otherwise "get away" without participating in that ritual. Now, I have to face it head-on with a whole new outlook..............WOW, how life does change!!

My 1st birthday Parteeee! I had waited a while for this one! No adjectives seem appropriate, to convey my A.Ma.Zing day. ALL the Kudos go to Donnie&Pam -the arrangements, (held in their beautiful home), deco, food & #1 Surprise of it all.!! {TY also to the SONS, for contributing $ to the party; Ronda, Vickie & Sue --for Food they brought. I had asked NO presents --just the PRESENCE, of my Family & Friends.....that fell thru! Gifts were ALL wonderful, cards so Sweet. {Sadly, a few out-of-town FRIENDS, weren't able to make the party. They were All on my mind & in my heart, tho.} 2 even mailed gifts!! TY to Betty & Charlene. Pam's deco was to the moon! So Beautiful, & my special SUNFLOWER theme.{Sunflower "love" began w/EVONNE --after she made me a Decoupage plate w/Sunflowers. the "REST OF THE STORY"......

I did soooo Love Paul Harvey. His stories were always so interesting.....and, he researched to bring a story to an often unknown ending. The "rest of the story" always let ya know.....the circle was closed on that topic for him. In that fashion....I wanted to do this blog. I love photography. I'm quite a happy amateur! Now, with Pinterest I get to see unlimited talent. This picture was one that "drew me in"....After I pinned it.....there were like 30+ other people who loved it too! This picture received the most pins on my boards. Just look at it....Never did try to track down the photographer. Only went as far as where the pin originated. Browsing pinterest boards is a fun pastime. I enjoy "following" pictures/quotes and such as far as I dare. In browsing.....I "fell into" a site. The photographer is TIMOTHY WALKER. LIFE Lessons .....Learning Again !!

This blog is a confession and statement of "new" learning for me. The "darkness" of an "acute" illness, and the healing from that, has been a reality check in full measure! I'm a Believer. I'm one who praises God, prays all the time, and am confident of the Love of my Father. That statement made -- I am still filled w/human nature and it's quircks! We all get "comfortable" in our everyday lives and routines. Well. Mine has been blown apart w/this "healing" process.!! It's going much more slowly than I would desire, and so much seems more difficult, and "lost" a bit. There are books written, quotes out there, and we all kinda believe --don't sweat the "small" stuff. Pfffft! It's the "small" stuff that's giving me such tough issues right now. Go figure!
