Sweet 16!

Noticed this pix in my files...memories flow thru my head!
It was my 16th birthday. Mom&Dad bought me a Hi-Fi--back then that was the cat's meow!! Got my 1st album -- ELVIS, ofcourse. Then there were the 45s and I now had access to music I wanted to hear....
Notice the background images -- that TV was one from the 50s...My Hi-Fi was Motorola. The speakers would even detach to sit around the room wherever you wanted to place them...wow!
Behind me to the right, a fireplace which Daddy closed off & put in one of those gnarly "space heaters"....those things you must stand in front of - just to get warm!! You had to keep turning front/back, side-to-side to "even out" the heat for your body!! Truthfully, I just LUV my furnace heating better these days....lol
This pix was taken in the living room of the home shared with my Mama&Daddy. It was a very loving home and I truly miss my parents.....
I'm thinking -- now my 1st GRANDdaughter is 16---OMG! I've now become "one of them" us youngens talked about so long ago...hahaha
Memories are flashbacks to the past we remember with love --whether good or bad -- they remain with us our lifetime. Thankfully so, because this pix represents a very HAPPY time in my life.
**Hi-Fi means high fidelity**  Today's "techie" generation will not know that term I'm sure....hahahaha
Ahhhhhhhhh, such sweet memories......

My 1st birthday Parteeee! I had waited a while for this one! No adjectives seem appropriate, to convey my A.Ma.Zing day. ALL the Kudos go to Donnie&Pam -the arrangements, (held in their beautiful home), deco, food & #1 Surprise of it all.!! {TY also to the SONS, for contributing $ to the party; Ronda, Vickie & Sue --for Food they brought. I had asked NO presents --just the PRESENCE, of my Family & Friends.....that fell thru! Gifts were ALL wonderful, cards so Sweet. {Sadly, a few out-of-town FRIENDS, weren't able to make the party. They were All on my mind & in my heart, tho.} 2 even mailed gifts!! TY to Betty & Charlene. Pam's deco was to the moon! So Beautiful, & my special SUNFLOWER theme.{Sunflower "love" began w/EVONNE --after she made me a Decoupage plate w/Sunflowers. Still hangs in my kitchen.} There were SUNFLOWERS, Everywhere! {even in the bathroom! So cute.} The cake....w/Cupcakes.... It was a ME day! Pictures w/Family

LIFE Lessons .....Learning Again !!

This blog is a confession and statement of "new" learning for me. The "darkness" of an "acute" illness, and the healing from that, has been a reality check in full measure! I'm a Believer. I'm one who praises God, prays all the time, and am confident of the Love of my Father. That statement made -- I am still filled w/human nature and it's quircks! We all get "comfortable" in our everyday lives and routines. Well. Mine has been blown apart w/this "healing" process.!! It's going much more slowly than I would desire, and so much seems more difficult, and "lost" a bit. There are books written, quotes out there, and we all kinda believe --don't sweat the "small" stuff. Pfffft! It's the "small" stuff that's giving me such tough issues right now. Go figure! the "REST OF THE STORY"......

I did soooo Love Paul Harvey. His stories were always so interesting.....and, he researched to bring a story to an often unknown ending. The "rest of the story" always let ya know.....the circle was closed on that topic for him. In that fashion....I wanted to do this blog. I love photography. I'm quite a happy amateur! Now, with Pinterest I get to see unlimited talent. This picture was one that "drew me in"....After I pinned it.....there were like 30+ other people who loved it too! This picture received the most pins on my boards. Just look at it....Never did try to track down the photographer. Only went as far as where the pin originated. Browsing pinterest boards is a fun pastime. I enjoy "following" pictures/quotes and such as far as I dare. In browsing.....I "fell into" a site. The photographer is TIMOTHY WALKER.
